The short answer
There is no single best ManyChat alternative, because people leave ManyChat for different reasons. If you want free Instagram comment-to-DM, BuzzWire is the pick. If you want cheap keyword flows with a high DM allowance, ReplyRush. If you want a ManyChat-style builder with AI credits included and an agency tier, Chatfuel. If you want an AI that holds a real sales conversation in your DMs, qualifies the lead, handles objections and closes, DM Champ. If your team needs one inbox for WhatsApp and every other channel, Respond.io. Store owners whose main channel is the website should look at Tidio, flow designers at Landbot, buyers who want to pick their own AI model at ConvoCore, and developers at Botpress.
For reference, ManyChat itself (checked October 2026 on manychat.com/pricing) has a Free plan for 25 active contacts, Essential from $14/month billed yearly for 250 contacts, Pro from $29/month billed yearly for 2,500 contacts with Manychat AI included, Business from $69/month and Advanced from $139/month. How this list is ordered
The order follows the job you are hiring the tool for, starting with the simplest need (send a link when someone comments a keyword) and ending with the most technical (build your own agent with a developer). It is not a quality ranking, and a tool lower on the list is not worse than one above it. We checked every price and plan limit on the vendor's own pricing page in October 2026. Where a page did not state something, we left it out rather than guess.
1. BuzzWire. Best for free Instagram comment-to-DM
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free forever with unlimited automations and no contact caps on one Instagram account. Pro is $9.99/month or $79/year. Per buzzwire.io/pricing. Channels: Instagram. Best for: Creators who want comment-to-DM without paying anything.
The free plan includes all three automation types (comment-to-DM, DM keyword replies and story replies), the multi-step flow builder and spintax personalization, within Meta's rate limits. Pro adds a follower gate, in-DM lead capture with CSV export, image-card DMs and removes the BuzzWire branding. New signups get a 14-day Pro trial.
Where it falls short: Instagram only, one Instagram account per plan, and AI replies are listed as coming soon to Pro rather than shipped. It is a keyword responder, not a conversational layer.
2. ReplyRush. Best for keyword flows on a budget
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free (1,500 DMs/month), Lite $10/month (7,500 DMs, 1 Instagram and 1 Facebook account), Boost $25/month (40,000 DMs, 3 accounts each), MAX $100/month (400,000 DMs, 5 accounts each). Per replyrush.com/pricing. Channels: Instagram and Facebook. Best for: Creators and small brands who think ManyChat is overpriced for what they use.
ReplyRush positions itself as the cheaper alternative to ManyChat for Instagram and Facebook DMs. Lite at $10/month includes comment auto reply, follow-gated DMs, post, reel and story automation, an email collector and follow-ups, with a much higher DM allowance than ManyChat's entry plan has contacts.
Where it falls short: The free plan does not include comment auto reply, so the comment-to-DM use case starts on Lite. No WhatsApp, and it is a trigger-and-template tool rather than an AI that holds a conversation.
3. Chatfuel. Best for a ManyChat-style builder with AI included
Pricing (checked October 2026): Business US$18/month billed yearly (US$216/year) with US$20 of AI credits a month. Agency S US$90/month billed yearly with US$100 of AI credits, 3 companies and an agency management dashboard. Per chatfuel.com/pricing. Channels: Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook and website. Best for: Businesses that like ManyChat's flow approach but want AI replies and official WhatsApp API access on the base plan.
Chatfuel is the closest functional match to ManyChat on this list. Every plan includes AI chatbots, a shared team inbox, a CRM, integrations such as Google Sheets and Zapier, and official WhatsApp API access. The Business plan covers comment and Reels replies, bulk WhatsApp campaigns and booking meetings in WhatsApp. Agencies get an Agency tier, and Chatfuel also promotes a separate SDK for launching a white-label chatbot platform.
Where it falls short: The pricing page notes that usage limits apply, so check the plan limits for your volume before you commit.
4. DM Champ. Best for an AI that sells in your DMs
Pricing (checked October 2026): Business $97/month, Agency $297/month, Agency Unlimited $497/month, half price if you pay yearly, with a 90-day money-back guarantee on yearly billing. Per dmchamp.com/pricing. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, WhatsApp Web, Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger, SMS, Telegram, email, LINE, Viber, a website chat widget and custom channels via API. Best for: Businesses whose DMs are where the sale happens, and agencies that want to resell that under their own brand.
DM Champ is built around one job: an AI sales agent that reads like a person, so prospects keep replying long enough for it to qualify them, answer objections and move them to a booking or a sale. It writes at a human typing pace, splits replies the way people do, handles a lead who interrupts mid-answer, and replies in the contact's language. It understands the images, voice notes, video and documents leads send, searches the web while answering, books, reschedules and cancels appointments mid-chat, and follows up automatically when a lead goes quiet. It also replies to Instagram and Facebook comments and runs comment-to-DM.
For agencies, the Agency plan adds white-label branding (your domain, your branding, your login), 10 client accounts and then $27/month per extra client, plus bringing your own AI key. Agency Unlimited removes the client limit. See white-labeling for the details.
The founder built the first version for FueGenix, a hair transplant clinic, where it helped grow revenue from $5M to $10M in 12 months on Instagram and WhatsApp DMs. FueGenix is at $20M a year today.
Where it falls short: At $97/month the entry plan costs several times what BuzzWire, ReplyRush, Chatfuel or ManyChat Essential charge. If you only need a link sent when someone comments a keyword, one of those is the better buy. Each login connects one Instagram or Facebook page.
5. Respond.io. Best for a team inbox on WhatsApp and other channels
Pricing (checked October 2026): Starter $99/month ($79/month billed yearly), Growth $199/month ($159 billed yearly) with AI Agents, workflows and broadcasts, Advanced $349/month ($279 billed yearly), Enterprise custom. Billing is based on Monthly Active Contacts. Per respond.io/pricing. Channels: WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, Viber and more in one inbox. Best for: Teams with several people answering conversations across many channels.
Where ManyChat is built around automations, Respond.io is built around the shared inbox and the team working in it. Starter is for teams that handle chats themselves; Growth adds automation and AI Agents so the same team can handle more conversations.
Where it falls short: AI Agents start on Growth at $199/month, and costs grow with your active contacts.
6. Tidio. Best for ecommerce website chat
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free plan, Starter $29/month ($24.17 billed yearly, 100 billable conversations), Growth from $59/month ($49.17 billed yearly, from 250 conversations), Plus from $300/month, Premium on request. The Lyro AI Agent is also sold from $32.50/month billed yearly. Per tidio.com/pricing. Channels: Website live chat, plus Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and email integrations. Best for: Online stores, especially on Shopify, whose main channel is the website.
If your customers talk to you on your store more than in Instagram DMs, Tidio fits better than any DM-first tool here. Lyro answers from your knowledge base with human handoff, and Starter includes 50 one-off Lyro conversations to try it.
Where it falls short: AI conversations are priced separately from the chat plans, and the jump from Growth to Plus is large.
7. Landbot. Best for visual flow building on web and WhatsApp
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free (100 chats/month), Starter €40/month (€32 billed yearly, 500 chats and 100 AI chats), Professional €100/month (€80 billed yearly, 2,500 chats and 300 AI chats), Professional WA €160/month billed yearly with one WhatsApp number, Business from €400/month. Per landbot.io/pricing. Channels: Web, Messenger and API chat; WhatsApp on the Professional WA plan. Best for: People who liked building flows in ManyChat and want a more visual builder.
Landbot's builder is its strength, with templates, A/B testing on paid plans and human takeover in a shared inbox. Extra chats and AI chats are priced publicly, which makes costs easy to predict.
Where it falls short: Instagram is not among the channels on its pricing page, so it is not a fit if Instagram DMs are your main channel.
8. ConvoCore. Best for choosing your own AI model, plus voice
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free sandbox, Starter $29/month, Pro $59/month, Business $99/month, White Label $199/month (20 sub-accounts), White Label Elite $349/month (unlimited clients, SaaS mode). Plans come with monthly AI credits. Per convocore.ai/pricing. Channels: Web widget and Telegram from Starter; WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Discord and email from Pro; voice from Business. Best for: Buyers who want to pick the AI model per agent and add phone voice agents.
ConvoCore publishes a long list of AI models across several tiers, with higher plans unlocking more capable models, and a per-message credit estimate for each. Business adds voice, campaigns, follow-ups and removes the ConvoCore branding.
Where it falls short: Instagram and WhatsApp start on Pro, not on the entry plan, and credit usage depends on the model you choose.
9. Botpress. Best for developers building a custom agent
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free (100 conversations), Plus $150/month billed yearly (250 conversations, $25 AI usage included, whitelabel webchat), Team $750/month billed yearly (1,500 conversations, unlimited seats), Enterprise custom. Per botpress.com/pricing. Channels: Webchat and WhatsApp on paid plans, with integrations for Instagram, Messenger and many more. Best for: Technical teams that want full control over how their agent works.
Botpress is a platform for building agents rather than a ready-made DM tool. It suits teams with a developer who wants to design the agent's logic, connect it to internal systems and run it across channels.
Where it falls short: Expect a learning curve without a technical person, and conversation packs are added automatically once you pass your quota.
When DM Champ is not the right fit
If you are a creator who needs a link sent when someone comments a keyword, BuzzWire, ReplyRush or ManyChat itself will do it for far less. If your sales happen on your website rather than in DMs, Tidio is built for that. If several people answer chats all day and the inbox matters more than the AI, Respond.io is closer to how you work. If you have a developer and want to build everything yourself, Botpress gives you that control.

- What made you look beyond ManyChat? The price for simple flows: BuzzWire or ReplyRush. Wanting a similar builder with AI and WhatsApp on the base plan: Chatfuel. Leads drop out because the replies feel like a bot: DM Champ. The inbox: Respond.io. The builder: Landbot.
- Where do your customers write to you? Instagram first: BuzzWire, ReplyRush, Chatfuel or DM Champ. Website: Tidio or Landbot. WhatsApp plus other channels with a team: Respond.io, Chatfuel or DM Champ.
